A month after becoming of Burgas the first region in the country that created a Regional Coordinating Unit for de-institutionalization of child care, on 24 June the first meeting of work on cases was held. The experts scrutinized two cases of endangered kids for which immediate actions and concrete decisions should be taken in order to bring and raise them back in their families. The cases were suggested by Child’s Protection Department in Burgas. The members of the coordinating unit took decisions in defence of the children’s interests and for helping the parents with the direct participation of specialists of Burgas Municipality, Employment Directorate and social workers. The activity of the new coordinating unit incorporates 26 organizations and institutions and it’s Head is Deputy Governor Assoc. Prof. Sevdalina Turmanova.
