The Folklore Festival of the Army Clubs started with 28 white doves symbolizing the European Union

The Governor of Burgas Region Valcho Cholakov opened the First Folklore Festival of the amateur groups of the Army Clubs under the heading “Ring dance on the azure coast”. The event started with a march of the dance groups from Alexandrovska Street till Troykata Square with the accompaniment of the Sliven representative brass. People of Burgas had the opportunity to enjoy the great emotion and artistry of almost 200 dancers representing clubs all over the country.

“The magic of the Bulgarian folklore unites people of different professions, interests and beliefs. On the Day of Europe I wish to all to more often turn to look back to our roots, to the traditions and to go forward to European development with a feeling of pride” – with these words the Governor opened the dancing competition. Right afterwards 28 white doves flied in the sky as a symbol of the states united in the framework of the European Union.

The festival under the heading “Ring dance on the azure coast” - Burgas is been organized for the first time and has an ambition to become a tradional event to promote Bulgarian folklore.
