A final version of the Integrated Marine Strategy Project of the Republic of Bulgaria has been discussed today in Burgas. The strategic document was presented during a meeting of the Governors of Burgas, Varna and Dobrich, representatives of the marine branch and institutions in charge. The project has been developed by experts in the three Regional Administrations and representatives of the Black Sea Institute and Regional Strategies Institute in Burgas. On it the National Integrated Marine Strategy can be based. The strategy includes all sectors related to the sea – ecology, transport, regional development, tourism, education and others. It’s acceptance is of extraordinary importance for the observance of European directives on one hand and for applying for diverse European programmes as well as for development of marine business and sea industry, on the other hand. The Governor of Burgas Region Valcho Cholakov and his colleagues from Varna und Dobrich – Dr. Margarita Novoselska and Stoyan Pasev committed themselves to further the project documentation on national level.
