Joint controlling actions of teams from the Automobile Administration, Regional Road Administration, Police Directorate, Gendarmerie and Border Police start in Burgas region with the aim to find out if the lorries carrying wood in the area are overloaded. This has been decided during a meeting initiated by Governor Valcho Cholakov after a warning from the Mayor of Malko Tarnovo municipality about overloaded trucks which are destroying the roads’ continuity in Strandja. Two mobile laboratories which can weigh the loaded trucks on the spot are at the disposal of the controllers. If the control finds out irregularities there will be sanctions against the offenders. As a part of preventive measures for protection of road infrastructure actions will be undertaken for construction of regulation plattforms where overloading will be performed.
“I initiated this meeting to decide on concrete actions and time limits and to create a good coordination between all institutions concerned by the topic as well. Once there is a warning for a problem it has to be controlled and when it has been found out it must be solved by resources of all those who are responsible. Responsibility should not be pinned on others.”
