Today I take the occasion of the feast known as Petlyovden (Day of the Cock) to return back to traditions which we used to forget sometimes in our hurried up present days. To remember that traditions determine us as a nation, unite us and differ us from the rest of people. We hardly everfind time to tell our children about them and rarely hand down. It rests with us to save Bulgarian traditions and to keep Bulgarian self-consciousness, Bulgarian history – a reason for pride.
On this date, 2 February our people celebrate the male offspring, on which the family and freedom stand. This is a day when the salvation, survival and preservation of masculine power are celebrated.
I wish all Bulgarian men to be a support of their families and an example for their children. The society needs more people who are bearer of the men’s force materialized in courage, adherence to ptinciples, responsibility and honourableness.
