“In our society it is important to recall what means to be a knight not with a sword and armour but knight with heart and soul. Courage, valour, honesty and rectitude are qualities we need very much nowadays in our work, in school and in the street. These are qualities which everyone must have and develop.” The Governor Valcho Cholakov appealed with these words to the audience at the official rewarding ceremony of talented children who took part in the regional painting contest “The Knight in me”. Cholakov shared with the pupil from the school “Anton Strashimirov”, their parents and the guests of the event that he habituates his children to respect for other people, to help them, to search for justice, to regard for adults, to assist those who are weaker and poorer.
The contest has been organized by The Order of Knights Templar of Jerusalem Grand Priorate – Bulgaria. Its idea is to provoke the pupil to reproduce knighthood as building personalities and characters and as school for growing up and maturing. The contest will be conducted at three stages – school, regional and national. Pupil who finish first, second and third at the national stage will win an one-year financial scholarship for supporting and developing of the creative potential.
