Clarification of the property and condition of the 37 artifical lakes in Burgas region

Clarification of the property and condition of the 37 artifical lakes in Burgas region

Controls of dams lakes with indeterminate property in the area of Burgas region have been started in the beginning of the week. The Governor Valcho Cholakov as a Chairman of the Interdepartmental team for technical condition control of dams took part in the inspection of five of them in Aytos municipality. Together with experts from the Basin Directorate, Irrigation Systems, Fire Department and  the municipalities’ administrations the Governor finded out on site that the controlled dams “Mostino”, “Bataklaka”, “Mangar dere”, “Chatal dere” and “Lyaskata’ are not dangerous for the population under the complicated meteorologic situation.

The Commission will visit in the next weeks according to schedule total 37 sites in the municipalities Burgas, Kameno, Pomorie, Primorsko, Sozopol, Karnobat, Sungurlare, Ruen and Sredets. The aim of this control is to find out whose property these water works are, what is their situation and which measures should be taken for bringing the equipments in the normatively prescripted shape.

In accordance with the Resolution of Counsil of ministers the governors are assigned the control function until clarification of the property of 268 dams in the country.

The controls conducted at the present moment differ from the annual controls of the river channels’ capacity and the condition of the potential dangerous reservoirs.

“In the last months the nature and the disasters we were faced have clearly indicated which our priorities should be. I personally participate in these controls, because it is a very important issue to me – it concerns the life and health of my fellow-citizens”, the Governor commented.
