Geographical location
The geographical location of the Burgas region is favourable for sea recreation and tourism development. Summer is the main tourist season.
Air and water temperatures, large number of sunny days and low rainfall enable relaxation in the open air during all four seasons – from June till September. The Black Sea is not polluted unlike other sea-basins in Europe, its waters are not that salty and there are not dangerous animal species and plants in it.
In the Region there are thermal mineral springs of different temperatures and chemical compositions which are important for the balneological and sea tourism.
The vegetation as a nature fact forms a specific healthy zone and microclimate over the recreation area making it into an object of rural and cognitive tourism, especially the forests alongside the rivers Ropotamo and Veleka and the nature preserves. The forests in the mountains Strandja and Sakar create optimal conditions for hunting tourism – one of the most profitable kind of tourism.
